November 30th - What Day Is It?

It's "National Mason Jar Day!"

A Mason jar, named after John Landis Mason who first invented and patented it in 1858, is a molded glass jar used in home canning to preserve food. The jar's mouth has a screw thread on its outer perimeter to accept a metal ring (or "band"). The band, when screwed down, presses a separate stamped tin-plated steel disc-shaped lid against the jar's rim. An integral rubber ring on the underside of the lid creates a hermetic seal.

Mason, who was a tinsmith, actually invented the lid first.

Mason not only invented the Mason jar in 1858, but also received his patent for the first pepper shaker with a screw-on cap on the same day.

Mason Jars are very collectible – one went for over $1000 on Etsy.

I should have told you yesterday that today was also…
"National Stay at Home Because You're Well Day!"

I could have saved you:
Sitting in traffic
Using gas
Buying coffee
Buying lunch
Having to talk to that "one" irritating co-worker
Oh well…
Glad you're here!

Happy Thursday, that day between:
AND
(If you don't know who these people are, ask an older co-worker.)

Have an Excellent Thursday!
